What brand fineline tape does everyone use?I've always used the blue 3M brand, but I know their has to be a better quality product out there.

I like the green Colad tape. I believe it's made in Germany. If I'm laying out flames, pulling the tape up and putting it back down a lot, it seems to be more forgiving than the 3M. It will continue to stick when the 3M seems to give up.

I've been using yellow Colad..I like it..doesn't stretch as easily as the 3-M,
and doesn't seem to pop up in the turns as much....

I've stuck with 3M but I'm going to be trying the Colad soon now! Any good suppliers for this stuff.... I hate getting 2 year old tape.

I dont use the plastic much........i learned years ago on the beige and they make a green paper like the ol days.........so ive been using them........i like the tight corners you can get without the plastic fighting the corners.......and the green is a nice green so your tape looks neon.....hehehehehe.

ill use the plastic for long and straight...the green for everything else.

I have been using the yellow Colad. It's half the mil thickness of the blue fine line.also cheaper especially in Canada,as we're paying 12.50 a roll for blue fine line.It also gives you less paint edge. You can get it from me for the Canadian guys or for the guys in the US from Innate Technologies.

I too have used the blue 3M in the past but just tried the yellow Colad after reading about it online. I like the way it makes tight bends much better. Just ordered a resupply from innate.

I use the 3M 233 green tape as well and it's cheap compaired to the blue.
I found some "blue" vinal tape at a place I buy some of my supplies from localy that's called American FM.71 made by Intertape polymer group. It's actually a nice tape and cheap,$4.50 for 1/8". As good or better IMO than 3M.
I'll check out the Colad as well, been seeing it on some other peoples projects on the web and wondered what kind it was. Thanks.

So far the green 3m has given me the best results. The 3M blue vinyl fineline seems to be the easist find, but I am not a huge fan of it. I would like t otry out the Colad brand fineline, But I have never clue as to where to get it.

Last april at the getaway automotive class, Steve Vandemon was using a beige fineline tape, I believe he was referring to it as Crepe Tape. I was able to hold on to the one rool I was using during the class. but no one ever seems to know what I am talking about when I ask for it.

Hey i dont know about you guys but the beige 3M fineline works good and leaves no residue behind as the blue one does but heres my problem. I notice when i do real tight curves with the beige one it tends to lift and not want to stay down. That is where i like to use the blue because that will stay down better and longer when doing real tight curves. Does anyone else experience this? If i am doing flames and larger type stuff i like to use the beige.
