I have the GX24 and have only done letters, no problem. I'm doing my first image following Pastranas DVD. He doesn't use Cut Studio. I traced with the pen tool in Illustrator, saved as AI, EPS, BMP. I exported to, and imported from, tried to open directly and CS keeps saying "Unexpected file format". The only way it will open is BMP, but I have to use "image outline" and it picks up both sides of the line.

Is there a step I'm missing before saving.

What The Hell!!:mad::mad::mad:

Thanks.

Depends on which Illustrator you have, but if you have the Cut Studio Bridge plug-in, you can send it direct from AI to CS as a vector outline. It will allow you to see it in a mini window, then you tell it to send outline to Cut Studio.
FYI, I have Illustrator CS2 and it has the bridge function.

When you saved it did you save it in a lower version of AI?
Needs to be saved as version 8 or lower.

I have 9, I'm pretty sure I don't have the plug in.

The plug in does save a few steps, it was on the Cut Studio disk which came with my plotter.
