Badger Renegade Velocity
Well here it is,I finally got my new Velocity airbrush
1/3 oz cup .21mm needle and does some pretty fine detail.
I'm impressed on how nice it sprays.
You can't beat it for the price and I'd say it will rank up there
with the Micron & Mojo's fine detail but for a fraction of the price.
Even comes in a nice case and an adapter to fit Iwata,RichPen or equivalent hose.

im waiting on two velocities to arrive one for me and one for a friend but im in the UK so i will have to be patiant
i have the mojo an olmypos sp 0.18 plus infinity 0.15 and my little Hohmi all of which can pull tight detail however the Mojo will take some beating ,i was sceptical about them but thought to myself everyone cant be bullshiting about them
then i got one for cheap
they were not bullshiting
if the renagade comes near to the Mojo then its great deal for the price and according to the specifications the design should equal the Mojo ,but the Mojo isnt all about the tight line its the ease it doese it and the fact it is a very forgiveing comfortable AB that makes the job very relaxing
im hopeing the new springs and tension control combined with the aledged detailing capabilty will make for a good user friendly detailing airbrush
my olympos is hell on my tendons my Hohmi is just dandy but not quite up to the mojo in some respects
i know each user will feel differently about different models but all in all they have to be user friendly as well as good at thier job
who knows maybe Badger is going to blow the game apart and set a new standard ,well at the price lets hope so becouse so many folk just cant justify or afford spending $400 to $600 on an airbrush
cant wait to get mine

well i finaly got my velocity after a slight delivery hitch
i must say im very impressed and not just with it detailing abilty .what actualy impresses me more is the superb atomisation so for shade outs this is going to be THE one ,transition from narrow the broad pattern is excelent, detailing capability is as good as the user is plus the control is excelent so will aid anyone to obtain good results
i had a slight problem with the brush when i changed to the open cap and it would not play the game and respond like the horned cap ,well i took a close look and it was due to the nozzle not protruding as far as it did on the horned cap so it wasnt pulling as well
only one thing for it i took the bull by the horns and hand matched the cap by rubbing some material off the rear face useing an oil stone so that it sat like the horned cap and the nozzle protruded more
worked like a dream and now the open cap performs excelently and as the design was to allow realy close up work it can detail even finer than the horned cap which was its intention in the first place
the brush itself isnt the ideal length for me but is no worst in that respect to many other models ,my personal preference is for a short nosed AB such as the olympos SP or Hohmi Y2 however this is a very personal thing and others may not be bothered
the trigger is smooth and the tensioner system works very well indeed as do the high grade springs which allow for total control of the trigger tension from both high preload to the other extreme without experiancing any slackness
the new trigger to chuck tab design works very well and i suspect is at the heart of the extremly good transition from narrow to broad spray patterns allowing for a very relaxed spraying without any signs of twitchyness or fight for control of needle openings
overall the plain Jane looks are very deceptive but very practical and although its not dressed in its sunday best like a lot of other AB models it performs its duties very well indeed at what is at present a very very competative price in fact i have seen knockoffs that pretend to be microns at higher prices
i cant see anyone being disapointed with the renagade series the velocity is a very practical item that can hold its own with the best of the best IMO
what you get for not a lot of money is a well designed piece of equipment with some very nice features that are very practical and actualy work makeing life a whole lot easier
i know of no other airbrush in this price range that can be compared to the velocity and to get anywhere near you will be spending a lot more cash
oh and of course we cant forget BADGERS LIFETIME WARRENTY

Hey Kewl, Did you get that from Coast? If not Where?
Just curious, Coast's website doesn't show that it comes with the case and they're pics show it chrome not black.
Thanks

Yah I think the chrome ones in the pics are the models but they must have opted to change that in production, maybe to cut costs.it really doesn't matter to me if it's shiney it's how it performa and yes I ordered mine thru
Coast,I believe they all coe with cases.
This just in, Badger is gonna be manufacturing metal caps for the Renegades so those who are skeptical about getting one, they soon will have metal caps instead of plastic.
I'm not sure exactly when they will have them but atleast they are gonna change that and metal caps will be available
