Pics of Alsa or House of Kolor basecoats??
I paint guitars and stuff around the house and am about to order some different colors from these brands. It's hard to choose though judging from the samples. Do any of you have any pics of just the metallic or basecoats of either of these companys? I'm am hoping to get a better idea of the colors...

you need a paint chip catalog, pictures not so much.
You can go to
www.HouseofKolor.com
and look at digital color shapes...but theres nothing like the real thing as they say...

Unfortunately, that is the way it goes. And I'll even add that that is not even the be-all, because it depends on how you spray it, especially pearls, Kandies, KBCs, and others.
Even if the pictures were perfect [and some of these guys go to great lengths to color correct their photos], your computer monitor is not calibrated, and they vary all over the place.

Talk to your HOK rep and have them get you the cd of the colors sprayed on speed bodies. It would help to.

Nothing per-se. The actual paint has a huge color to it, and works well. However, I've had more problems with it than I would normally expect. For example, I had a can just sputter, clog, spray fine, then sputter. Basically unusable. Well, that's a bummer, but they sent me a new can within 2 days, no questions asked. So they back up their product, but I guess my expectations are very high.
Also, rumor is that they don't have as much UV protection as HoK, so if it is something that is going to sit in the sun a lot, that might be something to look into.

Thanks for all the info! I'm painting to guitars and want colors similar to these two colors. Which colors out of Alsa and HoK match up to these to colors the most?

Hard to tell off a monitor but try SG111 Turquoise for the turquoise one
and for the blue one SG108 So-blue or if you want some with alittle pearl in it get Trublue PBC36....
Best way to find out................Test panels!!!!!
